Site work from builders and homeowners in your area
Excavation searches are crowded with equipment rentals, gravel yards, job seekers and one-hour machine work. We aim the budget at the site work you want, put the quote form where a phone can reach it, and count results at the signed job.

Where the budget leaks
What we find in excavation ad accounts
- 01
Searches that were never jobs
“Excavation near me” pulls equipment rental, gravel and topsoil yards, other excavators by name and people looking for operator jobs. In one contractor account we rebuilt this year, most of the visible excavation spend went to searches like these.
- 02
No one wrote down the job menu
Driveways, culverts, trenching, lot clearing, foundations, hourly machine work. If no one decides which of these you want, the keywords buy all of them and the negatives contradict the keywords.
- 03
A quote form at the bottom of a long page
On a phone, a long service page can bury the form so deep that almost no one who clicks an ad ever sees it. Buttons that jump to the form, and a form near the top, keep the click from dying on the scroll.
- 04
Broad match on a broad trade
Excavation on its own is too wide for broad match. Phrase and exact terms tied to the work you want, plus your towns, carry the budget.
- 05
One page for builders and homeowners
A builder wants a reliable crew on schedule across several jobs. A homeowner wants one job explained and quoted. A page written for both sells to neither.
How we set it up
Everything runs toward the site visit and written quote
What we buy
- Site work searches: foundation excavation, site preparation, lot clearing, basement digs, drainage, water and sewer lines.
- Excavation contractor plus each town you serve.
- Builder searches for site services, in their own campaign, if you want builder work.
What we block
- Equipment rental, hire, bobcat, mini excavator, post holes and hydro vac, unless you sell them.
- Gravel, topsoil and fill sales.
- Jobs, operator, salary and training searches.
- Other excavators by name.
What the form asks first
- What is the job: foundation, site prep, clearing, drainage, water lines or something else.
- Where is the property: town or postal code.
- Is it a new build, and is there a builder on it.
How we count it
- Calls and forms by campaign, with phone taps tracked on every page.
- Quotes sent and jobs signed, matched to the campaign every month.
- Builder accounts tracked on their own line, since one builder can be a season of work.
The season
When the budget moves
Winter
Frozen ground slows digs in cold regions while builders plan spring starts. Builder searches keep running.
Spring
Starts open up, and foundation and site-prep searches climb. The budget rises with them.
Summer to fall
Peak site work. Ads follow your crew's open weeks and pause when the schedule is full.
See it in practice
A contractor doing excavation, septic and landscaping work across Central Ontario.
Questions
What owners ask before they hire us
Do you work with builders or with homeowners?
Both, in separate campaigns with separate pages. Builder work is judged on repeat jobs per builder, homeowner work on cost per signed job.
We get a lot of calls for small jobs. Can you filter them?
Yes. The ads name the work you do, the keywords skip hourly machine work and rentals, and the form asks the job and the property before anyone calls back.
Our excavation ads spent a lot and booked almost nothing. Where do we start?
With the search terms report and the page. Usually most of the spend sits on searches that were never jobs, and the form is too far down the page for a phone. We fix those two before adding a dollar.
What does it cost?
A monthly retainer that covers the strategy and the work, scoped on the first call. You get the number in writing before anything starts, and we don't bill by the hour.
